Bio

Karl works primarily in developing our social networking products and especially loves making APIs do things that they weren't meant to do. His earliest programming experiences were on the ZX Spectrum in the late 80s and early 90s producing a handful of text-based adventure games instead of whilst revising for exams.

Karl discovered the internet around 1998 and couldn't stop himself from building things. This led to work at digital agencies Oyster (now LBi) and then DNA (now part of Razorfish) delivering projects for some of the UK's top brands across web, touchscreen, CD-ROM and interactive television platforms. From there followed five years of running a consultancy which eventually included developing Facebook applications such as Six Degrees of Separation and led to contact with Portman through the Facebook Developer Forum. He is now active in the Facebook development community in London, an occassional writer for Inside Facebook and a regular speaker at the London Facebook Developer Garage.

Karl holds an M.A. in Architecture from Cambridge University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture with Distinction from the University of Plymouth and a B.Sc in Mathematical Sciences from the Open University.
